Service Description

Board & train programs are highly customized and take place at Alcala Country Pet Resort in Encinitas, CA. These programs are a great option for jumpstarting a new puppy towards training success, extra mental enrichment during an extended vacation, continued reinforcement of previously learned skills, or providing specialized help for resolving common problem behaviors (jumping, counter surfing, begging, pulling on leash, chasing, nipping, etc.) Your dog will receive individualized time, attention, and practice being the calm, confident, and well-mannered dog you would like them to be. We provide a one hour start up lesson to set clear goals and expectations and a second one hour transfer lesson at pick-up to ensure you have all the information to maintain success after returning home with your pup. We offer additional follow-up lessons at a discounted rate. You will receive reports, photos, and video clips throughout your dog's stay. Each day your dog can expect: Ample outside time in our fully fenced and secured play yards for potty breaks and physical exercise Scheduled meals in mentally stimulating enrichment toys Strategic and collaborative management for diligently preventing practice of undesirable behaviors Multiple daily training sessions practicing skills to achieve goals we set together Supervised dog-to-dog play if/when appropriate Safe and controlled exposure to novel stimuli for socialization purposes Lots of love and snuggles **Board and train programs are not a suitable option for dogs displaying separation anxiety or reactive/aggressive behaviors towards people or dogs.
